RALLY TO SUPPORT THE NEW ONTARIO CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION & RESILIENCE ACT AT QUEEN’S PARK, @9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 16th, 2024
May 16 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am
THIS EVENT HAS ALREADY OCCURRED. On Thursday May 16th at 9:30 a.m. at the Ontario Legislature, MPP Peter Tabuns tabled a Private Member’s Bill, the Ontario Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience Act. The Act was written with the help of Seniors for Climate Action Now! and Climate Action for Lifelong Learners member Jennifer Penney. The current government has no legislation in place to protect Ontarians from the impacts of climate change. If the government were to pass this Act, it would acknowledge the impacts of climate change and reduce the harms of more frequent and intense extreme heat, storms, flooding and wildfires.
This rally was held near the front steps of the Ontario Legislature at Queen’s Park from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 16th, 2024, to support the introduction of the Act, and to call on the government to adopt it.
