Celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10:00 am ET.
This year, Earthday.org is promoting a 60% reduction of plastic production by 2040.
The theme: Planet versus Plastics!
To achieve this 60% reduction, Earthday.org’s goals are:
- Promoting widespread public awareness of the damage done by plastic to human, animal, and biodiversity health;
- Rapidly phasing out all single use plastics by 2030;
- Demanding policies ending the scourge of fast fashion;
- Investing in innovative technologies and materials to build a plastic-free world.
CALL has invited Chloe Costa from TerraCycle to present to us. TerraCycle is a company working to “eliminate the idea of waste”. We will learn about free and for-purchase options to recycle plastic and other types of waste.
